National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) SAS Nagar is placed 3rd under the pharmacy category by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) for the year 2019. NIPER SAS Nagar was set up in 19191 by the Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Government of India. NIPER SAS Nagar is the first national-level institute in pharmaceutical sciences. The institute is working with the objective of becoming a centre of excellence for advanced studies and research in pharmaceutical sciences.
