Amidst the picturesque mountain ranges of the Aravallis, the city of lakes, Udaipur was established about 500 years ago, the city of lakes, the then rulers, religious places, education, to develop the role of knowledge, devotion and action as a philosophy of life. By establishing the centres, the concept of improved education and health to the citizens was realized.

Before independence, in 1933 AD, the then Maharana Bhupal Singh ji of the princely state of Mewar, for the promotion of Sanskrit and Ayurveda education, independently established the Ayurveda College and installed the self-named Rajvaidya Pt. Laxminarayan as the principal. Thereafter, serving in the Faculty of Ayurveda of Banaras Hindu University, Banaras, invited Kaviraj Pratap Singh ji, especially to Udaipur, and honored him on the post of Principal for the development of Ayurveda education center.

After independence, in 1962, the then successful Chief Minister of the state, Shri Mohanlal Sukhadia, laid the foundation stone of the present building on his own and dedicated the present building on 23 January 1967 from Kamalo, naming the college as Mahamana P. While dedicating it in the name of Madan Mohan Malviya ji, gave the college a proud identity. Presently the only Government Ayurveda College, run by the Government of Rajasthan, is located in Udaipur. It is recognized by the Central Council of Indian Medicine, New Delhi and Department of AYUSH, and is affiliated to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Rajasthan Ayurved University, Jodhpur. The college has 60 places for undergraduate level Ayurvedacharya course and six (06) subjects at postgraduate level, Dravyaguna, Kayachikitsa, Rasashastra and Medicine, Kalpana, Shalya Tantra, Kriya body and composition body at 05-05 places for admission.

In the above hospitals, outdoor and indoor medical facilities are available in the subjects of Kayachikitsa, Panchakarma, Rognidan, Shalya, Shalakya, Maternity Tantra, Kaumar Bhritya, where patients are provided free medicines manufactured in the college chemistry and food prepared in the kitchen as far as possible. X-ray, ECG, in the laboratory equipped with modern equipment in the college hospital. And the facility of testing blood, urine with modern instruments is available. In the college hospital, the medical facilities of diabetes, gridhrasi, childish, rheumatism, panchakarma, agnikarma and waterlogging are provided by the subject experts of the college.

According to the standards of the Indian Medical Central Council, New Delhi, 14 departments are fully equipped and equipped with computerized facilities and are set up separately in the college. Separate Charak and Girls Hostel for students studying at undergraduate level in college and PG for postgraduate students. Hostel is in operation. "Dr. Rajendra Prakash Bhatnagar’ library is established, in which more than 21000 books are available on subjects related to Ayurveda and Modern. The college has computer lab and the college campus is equipped with Wi-Fi facility.

Charak Upvan is established in 108 bighas of land in the midst of picturesque Aravalli mountain ranges in distant Amberi village, where under Ayurveda course, students of the college are given practical knowledge of medicinal plants. More than 3500 medicinal plants of different species are also available in Charak Upvan and the gardens located in the college premises. Department of AYUSH, Government of India, New Delhi declared this college as model college in the year 2006 and allocated an amount of Rs.05 crore, with the said amount, construction of air-conditioned grand auditorium (with seating capacity of 500 persons), new principal room, six departments The college has been furnished and upgraded by purchasing machinery/plant/equipment etc. for new construction and departments. The grand air-conditioned auditorium (Sushruta Auditorium) with the seating capacity of the above 500 persons is being specially used for national / international seminars and knowledge promotion, subject seminars and research analysis and local administrative meetings and public participation programs. An air-conditioned conference hall (Vagbhat Auditorium) with a seating capacity of 100 persons is also established in the library premises, in which orientation program for newly appointed medical officers of Ayurveda department, innovative training and departmental small seminars by postgraduate scholars is being used.
