The first batch of 150 MBBS students was admitted in GMERS medical college, Gandhinagar during August 2012. Total duration of MBBS course is 4 & ½ year and Compulsory rotational Internship of 1 year. 1st MBBS is of 1 year duration during which students learn subjects like Human Anatomy, Human Physiology, Biochemistry, and Community Medicine. 2nd MBBS is of 1 & ½ year duration with subjects like Pathology, Microbiology, Forensic Medicine, Pharmacology, and Community Medicine. 3rd MBBS is of 2 year duration with subjects like Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology, Pulmonary Medicine, Psychiatry, Anaesthesiology, Skin & VD, ENT, and Dentistry. Adequate number of qualified faculty is available to teach these challenging subjects. These scientific subjects are taught by theory lecture, interactive practical, live demonstration etc.
I am putting every sincere effort to bring out the best of my medical students, for which clinical integrated teaching is planned. Our medical college is spread over lush green area of 42 acres, which houses teaching hospital, Auditorium, Doctor staff quarters, Nursing staff quarters, Resident quarters, Boys’ hostel, Girls’ hostel, Play ground, and other supportive facilities.
The college library has a huge collection of latest medical text books.

The medical campus is free from ragging activities and fully observes Prevention of Ragging Regulation, 2009. We recognise Ragging as an offence which is completely prohibited and is discouraged.
The prime concern of the Institute is to develop patterns of teaching in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education in all the branches so as to demonstrate a high standard of medical education to all medical colleges and allied institutions in India. The other important objectives of the Institute are to bring together in one place educational facilities of the highest order for the training of personnel in all the important branches of health activities and to attain self-sufficiency in postgraduate medical education. The educational principles and practices being adopted here are those which are the best suited to the needs of the country. Adaptation of education to meet the problems of community health is a major preoccupation.
Facilities
The Medical College occupies a G + 5 storied building. The main Hospital is located in a G + 2 storied building. Work on separate OPD block in a G + 7 storied structure connected by a corridor with the hospital building is going on. Work on additional 600 beds with new OTs is nearing completion. Space is adequate for all teaching activities in all the departments and also for laboratory and imaging facilities.
