Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University, Kanpur, also known as CSJMU was established in 1966. The university is regarded as a pioneer in higher education. It has 952 affiliated colleges in 11 districts. The university is spread over 264 acres of land. They offer both UG and PG courses for interested students across the country. Over the years of its existence, the university has helped in contributing to the growth and economic development of the country. The university is recognized by UGC.

Facilities

Central Library: The central library includes more than thousands of books and journal collections. It is made fully digitalized for better searching experience. Students and staffs can use the library for reference and knowledge enhancement purposes.
Computer Centre: The university offers a state of the art computer centre, that is well equipped with computing resources, and also helps in catering the academic needs of the university.
Health Centre: A well equipped medical facilities are provided in the health centre for students and staff. A medical officer along with their staff are present to cater to the medical needs in the campus. An ambulance is also present in the university campus to take patients to a nearby hospital in case of any health emergency.
Hostel: Separate boys and girls hostels are provided to those who required accommodation during their course persuasion. All the daily essentials are included in the hostels, along with mess facilities and recreational area to make their stay a better and enhancing one.

Admission
Admissions to the UG and PG courses offered by the university are done on the basis of merit or entrance exam, depending on the course degree candidates want to pursue. The basic steps for admission are given below.
1. Fill and submit the admission form.
2. Appear for the required entrance exam.
3. Meet the required cut-off score.
4. Submit all documents for verification.
5. If selected, candidates must pay fees.
Scholarship
Students can avail various scholarships available in the university. However, if the university doesn’t offer or sponsor scholarship to students, they can apply for scholarships provided outside the university through governments. Students can apply for the scholarships provided by UGC if they meet the eligibility criteria. They can also apply for state and central government scholarships, upon meeting the required criteria. Separate scholarships are offered to students belonging to SC/ST/EWS category, and scholarships based on individuals merit and academic performance. Educational loans from banks can also be availed for those who aren’t eligible for scholarships.

They offer placement and training opportunity to students pursuing various course degrees in the campus through placement cell. The cell aims to provide future scope to students after completing their respective course degrees, through placement and job opportunities.
