The College of Veterinary and Animal Science, Navania, Vallabhnagar was established in 2007 as a constituent College of Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology, Udaipur (MPUAT) to cater to the needs of Animal Husbandry activities of Southern Rajasthan. It is the second constituent Veterinary College of the Rajasthan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (RAJUVAS), Bikaner which is situated in the southern region of Mewar in Udaipur district. The foundation stone of this college was laid by the Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Smt. Vasundhara Raje Scindia, on 15th April 2007. On this auspicious occasion, Dr. S. L. Mehta (Former V. C., MPUAT), Sh. Randhir Singh Bhinder (M.L.A. Vallabhnagar) and Dr. R. K. Nagda (Dean) were also present. This college was registered under registration No.P.14(18) Edu.-4/2007 dated 28.5.2007 and the first batch of B.V.Sc. &A.H. was started on 10th September 2007. The two-year Animal Husbandry Diploma Programme has also been started at the College from the academic year 2010-11 on self-finance basis.

History of College of Veterinary & Animal Science, Navania, Vallabhnagar, Udaipur (Raj.), goes back to 1986 when it was started as a Livestock Research Station, Vallabhnagar under Directorate of Research in Veterinary and Animal Science. All India Co-ordinated Research Project on Buffaloes (ICAR) was running at Livestock Research Station, Vallabhnagar for genetic improvement and conservation of Surti breed of Buffalo in southern Rajasthan. The College is located in western part of India and situated at 582 m above mean sea level on 24° 35 N latitude and 73°43 E longitudes, which characterized with semi-arid climate with undulated topography having an average rainfall of 660 mm annually. Similarly, the temperature ranges from 2.3°C to 42.3°C. The location of the college is about 45 km from the city of Udaipur, about 7 km interior from Udaipur-Chittorgarh National Highway on Bhatewar-Navania road. The College is situated at Navania village in Vallabhnagar tehsil of Udaipur district. The premises of the college are spread over an area of 892 bighas (224 hectares) of land. After 2010, due to the efforts of Prof. (Dr.) Col. A.K. Gahlot, Vice Chancellor, RAJUVAS, this College possesses well-equipped laboratories, an adequate number of classrooms, requisite number of hostels, guest house, library, computer lab, stores, canteen and clinical and research facilities. It is bound to fulfil the needs of farmers and livestock owners in the region. The College is developing as an institution of academic excellence, including research and extension, in the field of Veterinary and Animal Sciences. The College of Veterinary & Animal Science, CVAS, Navania is currently providing M.V.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in most of the disciplines, apart from B.V.Sc. & A.H. Apart from formal diploma and degree programmes, this college is also imparting training on various topics related to Animal Husbandry to farmers.

All the 17 departments are well equipped with instruments, chemicals, laboratories, teaching materials etc. The college has established a TVCC in an area of around 48000 Square feet. Fully fledged facilities for diagnosis and treatment under OPD and indoor has developed. Along with projects, Following units are also functioning at the college campus:
