The Christian institute of Health sciences and research (CIHSR) was established in 2007 under a tripartite partnership agreement between Christian Medical College, Vellore, Emmanuel Hospital Association, New Delhi and the Government of Nagaland as a charitable Society and organization. It is situated on 130 acres of land located at 4th Mile, Dimapur in Nagaland.

The board of Directors that govern the institute are derived from these 3 partners.

THE OBJECTIVES ARE TO DEVELOP

1. To develop a centre of excellence in Healthcare
2. To develop Undergraduate, postgraduate and innovative medical teaching programs to empower healthcare personnel in Northeast India
3. To develop staff and medical leaders to the potential that God has created them to be and harness their talents and gifts to significantly impact the region and beyond.
4. To develop a vibrant community that cares and supports each other, thereby reflecting the nature and character of Christ to the society around. To encourage this community to proactively engage with the neighbouring communities and society to bring holistic transformation.
5. To provide a focal point for a network of hospitals and likeminded organizations in the Northeast so as to make an impact on health in the whole of the region
